What?  You've never heard of women's football?  Where have
you been hiding?  Women's football has been around since
1999 in the United States - even longer in Japan!  All year
long, thousands of women around the nation gather their gear
and head for tryouts.  They don their shoulder pads, helmets,
thigh/hip/tail pads, and prepare to do battle on the gridiron.  Did
I mention FULL CONTACT TACKLE FOOTBALL??  Currently,
there are three major women's leagues nationwide:
the
Independent Women's Football League (IWFL),
the National Women's Football Association (NWFA),
and the
Women's Professional Football League (WPFL).

The All Valley Attack began as the Antelope Valley Bombers in
2004.  At the end of the 2005 season, the team was purchased
by Suzy Ligon, and the name was changed to the Antelope
Valley Attack.  The Attack drew players from all over Los
Angeles County and points North, so for the 2007 season, in
order to include all the areas that the players call home, the
geographic name was changed to All Valley.  Our players c
ame
from ALL local valleys, connected by freeways and the dream
of playing football.

There may be a team near you.  If not, maybe you're interested
in starting one.  Visit the league websites, and find out what it
takes to get involved, as a player, or even an owner.  No
matter where you go, there are women with the same dream of
playing football!
